Meetings

Sunday Morning Service

Starting at 10.45 am, the first part of the meeting is always geared towards the children before they leave the main hall to go to creche or Sunday School. We then sing, pray and listen to preaching from the Bible.  The meeting usually ends around 12.15 pm.

Sunday School

Children meet together for a short time to sing and then split into separate classes according to their ages.  Each class has two teachers who take the class on alternate weeks.  The children think about the message for the week through listening, colouring, acting, playing or discussing.

Creche

We have excellent creche facilities and a rota is in operation to make sure there are always two or more people ready to look after your baby or toddler if you wish to leave them and return to the service.

Sunday Evening Service

Starting at 6.30 pm, this is usually a quieter meeting as many parents stay at home with younger children.  The last Sunday evening meeting of each month is aimed at young people in particular.

Wednesday Bible Study

This meeting is focused around the study of God’s Word and the Lord’s Supper (Communion).  The last Wednesday of each month is dedicated to prayer.  Occasionally we have visitors from Christian organisations or missionaries who lead the meeting for us. At 7.30 pm each Wednesday.

Friday Prayer Meeting

At 8.00 pm each Friday a small group meets to pray for the church, for those in need and for missionary friends.

Christianity Explored

Christianity Explored courses take place regularly at DEC. Sometimes meeting in the church building or in someone’s home, there is usually a small group who meet to look at the Gospel of Mark in the Bible as a gateway to understanding more about what Christians believe.  Who is Jesus?  Why did He come?  What does it mean to follow him?  The course usually lasts around six weeks, meeting one evening each week.  If you’d like to find out more then please use the contact form or take a look at the Christianity Explored website.

And more…

As well as our regular weekly meetings we also like to meet together occasionally to enjoy a meal together or maybe a barbeque in the summer.  Also, ’Ladies’ Evenings’ take place two or three times a year which are fun evenings and a good opportunity to invite friends along who may never have heard the message of the Bible before. For information about these events keep an eye on our home page.  For information about activities for children and young people see our youth page.
